What is a Project Collaboration Context?

It is the set of common resources needed to move a project to completion.
Many people with different skills are required to work together on projects.
Some people are involved on projects from the initial gather of requirements
to project completion. Others are only involved for a short while until
their specific task is completed and then move to the next project. It is
difficult for people beginning work on the project in its later phases since
they don't have a history of where project information can be found. The
initial setup of the project tools, documentation, processes, and
information about existing issues can be hard to find. Project information
can be spread across web sites, wiki pages, RSS Feeds, bug management tools,
customer service logs, documents, spreadsheets, distribution lists, email,
special instructions for tool usage, license information. This Information
constitutes the Project Collaboration Context.

Providing a Project Collaboration Context with organized project information
can be speed the understanding of what needs accomplished. The location of
the information and tools speeds completing required tasks. It can save
time of project newcomers and old timers since the new comers can find much
of what they need on their own.

Corona is creating a container of locations and connection information to
allow access to this information. Corona isn't trying to be a repository
but it is trying to know which repositories of information are important for
a specific project. The value Corona adds to this information is to gather
and aggregate event information about the processing and flow of project
information for use by people in project work groups. For example, when a
user interface is changed in software project many people in project need to
be aware of the change: development, quality assurance, documentation,
marketing and sales. Each role in the project work group has a little
different need. Corona can support these different needs by providing
Collaboration Events to the tools used by people. People in these roles get
faster information handling and fewer miscommunications.

Thanks for your interest in Corona.
