Struts 2 in Eclipse [message #209748] Wed, 05 March 2008 23:03 Go to next message

Greetings. I am trying to set up a Struts 2 project in Eclipse, and I
can't seem to do so. I have installed the Webtools project, as well as
the Graphical Editor Framework, the Eclipse Modeling Framework, and the
Java EMF Model, just like the instructions say. All the tutorials I have
found say "From File->New->Other menu, select Dynamic Web Project". I see
nothing even remotely close to "Dynamic Web Project" in that list. Could
someone let me know what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks very much in advance,
Tom

Just get the Project Explorer view, right-click in the white space,
choose New->Project... Then click on Web near the bottom and you'll see
it there. Now, from your description, I couldn't tell if you downloaded
Eclipse JEE--that's the one you want.

Is it possible that you're not running with a 1.5 or higher
supported JRE?

Hello Russ,

Thanks very much for the answer. Yes, you were absolutely correct, I was
not working with the JEE version of Eclipse. I was working with the
"classic" version. Once I downloaded and configured the JEE version, it
worked great.

Thanks again. I don't think I would have figured this out on my own.

Nitin,

I am running with a 1.6 JRE. The problem was solved by the first poster;
I was not running with the JEE version of Eclipse, and once I switched
over to that, everything works. Thank you for your insight and assistance.
