Hi there,

I've just upgraded Hudson of my team from 1.384 to 3.1.2. There are about 900 jobs and 10+ views.

The problem is that it take much time to load some Dashboard than the old one, Dashboard, People, Disk usage.

It also consume much more memory than the old one as well, 1.384 [380-400MB] vs 3.1.2 [600-800MB], I think it because of graphic loading.

This is my server info.

Host: Windows 2003 (x86)
Memory setting: 1024MB
JDK: 1.6.0_26
Jobs: 900+

Also, I failed to delete the job with UN-debugable message dialog. (Just "Error" in there and nothing in log).

Any suggestion are welcome. Very Happy

Hudson 3.1.x is optimized to use less memory than previous versions, unless you have a plugin that does not follow the guideline we outlined. That would explain the increased memory and loading time. Can you list the plugins you have? Hope you upgraded to all latest plugins.

900+ jobs is a pretty large installation. Very surprised that you are managed to run with 1024 MB of memory setting. I believe you are very conservative and keep pruning the builds of the jobs and keep minimal builds per job.

Regarding the delete job error. Occasionally it surfaces. The failure is mainly due to Filesystem holding on to the files and refusing to let it be deleted. This is particularly an issue in Windows Server. I'm trying to get better information and display it in the dialog, but so far unsuccessful.

Also you mentioned 10+ views. Views are mainly used for job isolation for several teams using same Hudson. We have introduced Team Managament in Hudson 3.1.x. I would suggest to give it a try

For jobs, I'm planning to remove unused jobs but I need permission from my team member, also the view. I have to keep all of them in the mean time.

The one of main reason to upgrade is Team Management feature. I'll learn how to use this.
