Hello,

I'm using JBuilder Dataexpress components and have a problem with certain components.

There seems to be a problem parsing DataBase and QueryDataset objects.

I would like to able to manipulate properties of these objects.

Here is the stacktrace when i try to open a JBuilder DataModule class

BR,
Hugo

The stack trace should have been accompanied by the following message:

Quote:
The parser parsed the compilation unit, but can't identify any gui toolkit, so WindowBuilder can't display any gui to edit. This can be caused by one of the following reasons:

  • This class is not an editable UI class and contains no UI components.
  • WindowBuilder does not recognize the gui toolkit or library used in this class.
  • WindowBuilder does not understand this gui type/pattern in a supported gui toolkit.
  • Problems exist with the classpath. For example, the compilation unit uses SWT classes, but the SWT/JFace libraries are not included into the classpath.

For example, if you are trying to edit a Swing UI, you probably don't have Swing Designer loaded.

Yes you are right. It is accompanied by the message.

These Jbuilder components are not swing classes but they are java beans.

Should not the parser be able to handle them?
Maybe they have to be loaded into Windows Builder somehow so it understands them?

Thanks,

The error message refers to the class you are trying to edit. I don't know what a "JBuilder DataModule class" is, but WindowBuilder is not a generic Java Bean tool. It is a GUI builder which can edit Swing or SWT UIs specifically. It is also a generic platform for creating UI builders, so it can be extended to support other UI toolkits (as has been done with GWT and Android).
