I have just noticed a warning that my org.eclipse.wst.validation.validator
extension doesn't use the enablement element. Two questions:

1) Why is this element marked required rather than optional?

2) I notice in the docs that enablement should now be used for facet-based
enablement of validators. But it isn't clear from the doc how to convert
a current "facet" element into an equivalent enablement element based on
facet. How would I go about doing this?
