Using the JSP Editor on JSPs files which don't have .jsp extension ? [message #176075] Wed, 02 August 2006 03:43 Go to next message

I have added the extension *.wml to Platform Preferences -> General ->
Editors -> File Associations.

I have then added the JSP Editor to the associated editors list at the
bottom.

I have then right clicked from Project Explorer on one of my *.wml files
and selected Open With -> JSP Editor.

But it refuses to behave like a JSP Editor and tries to perform XML
validation on the file.

The servlet container Tomcat once configured to treat *.wml as JSP files
correctly emits and processes the page contents.

Am I doing things correctly ?

Not quite, http://www.eclipse.org/webtools/faq/main.html#xml_1
should get you going.

Thanks for the pointer.

But I'm still not having any luck, I have added "*.wml" into the "JSP"
and "XML" entries under Content Types. There was no change in behavior
when creating a new JSP editor.

Actually, you only want to add it to "JSP". Do you have any other
JSP editors installed?

Not that I'm aware of. WTP is providing my JSP editor AFAIK.

I'm expecting XML inside JSP behavior.
