About drag and drop on XML design editor [message #174256] Thu, 13 July 2006 08:25 Go to next message

Hello,
I have a question about the XML editor (in particular the tab design) coming
with WTP.
Let us assume that we are editing an XML associated to a given schema. The
design editor allows to create tags according to the schema definition.
However it is possible to violate schema properties using drag and drop of
tags and so to produce an invalid XML. I was wondering if there is the
possibility to disable drag and drop action when this is contrast with the
schema definition; any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Stefano.

Currently there's no provision for doing this. Most drop positions
would then be disabled and that could be confusing as there's no
method to explain *why* they'd disabled at those positions to the user.
