As a Java Developer working within the Product Development or Professional
Services team, you will be involved in designing, developing and
delivering new features and enhancements to the Elastic Path enterprise
e-commerce product line. During these projects, you will participate in
all aspects of the software development lifecycle including planning,
technical design, construction, peer reviews, documentation, testing and
deployment. You will be making heavy use of the latest & greatest
technologies, so a craving for learning new things is a must.
In contrast to more traditional software shops, we follow an Agile
approach to software development including: short iterations, lots of
face-to-face communication, our beloved wiki, friendly high-trust
environment, continuous integration and automation, weekly peer reviews,
buddying developers with QA engineers, keeping processes as simple as
possible, frequent retrospectives, we could go on and on :)
The bottom line is that we are passionate about Agile software development
and you should be too!
Required Skills and Abilities
* proficient in English
* proficient in Java / J2EE web application development (JSP,
Servlets, XML, etc.)
* proficient in SQL
* experience building large-scale software applications in a team
environment
* experience with at least one of the following databases: Oracle,
DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL
* experience with at least one Java application server (ie. Tomcat,
Caucho Resin, Jetty, BEA Weblogic, IBM WebSphere, JBoss, etc)
* experience developing test cases in jUnit
* experience with at least one version control system (ie. CVS, Visual
SourceSafe, ClearCase, Perforce, SubVersion, etc)
* object-oriented programming
* design patterns
Optional Skills and Abilities
The following skills are not required, but will be considered an asset:
* Eclipse RCP / SWT
* experience with multiple databases and application servers
* Velocity
* Jakarta Struts
* EJB or another Object/Relational mapping framework such as
Hibernate, TopLink, Castor or Cocobase.
* Ant
* Web Services development (SOAP, WSDL, AXIS, SAAJ, IXRetail, UBL,
ebXML, etc)
* XML Schema, XSLT, JAXP, TRAX, SAX, DOM, Xalan,
* Java portal development (JSR-168)
* Eclipse IDE
* Experience implementing Java e-commerce applications
* Experience interfacing with ERP systems such as SAP, Peoplesoft,
J.D. Edwards, etc.
* Experience interfacing with accounting, inventory, supply chain
management and other business applications
* Experience interfacing and communicating directly with clients
* multi-lingual
Education and Training
* 4 year degree in Computer Science or similar college diploma
2 years developing large-scale J2EE applications
