Hi all,

we're about to roll out an Eclipse based IDE to a lot of developers and would like to provide them with a default C/C++ Formatter setup. Is there any way we can contribute another "built-in" formatter profile? I.e. is there an extension point that would allow us to add a new predefined configuration that users could simply enable? (In fact I'd like to enable it by default).

I know I can export a formatter configuration as XML and then import it again, but I'd like to avoid bothering Eclipse newbies with too much configuration. And then also one would have to repeat this for every new workspace.

Are there any other options instead of an extension point? Some way to automate setting preferences when starting Eclipse for the first time or something similar?

Best regards,
