[WTP 1.0.1] Is WS wizard supposed to deploy WS? [message #167334] Mon, 24 April 2006 17:05 Go to next message

I go through the web service wizard, it works, it generates the proper
files in the web project and deploys the web project. However, calling
http://localhost:8080/HelloWeb/servlet/AxisServlet returns only the
default Axis web services:

# AdminService (wsdl)

* AdminService

# Version (wsdl)

* getVersion

If I run org.apache.axis.client.AdminClient using
-lhttp://localhost:8080/HelloWeb/services/AdminService and deploy.wsdd
from the HelloService/ws folder, the service is actually deployed -

* AdminService (wsdl)
o AdminService
* Version (wsdl)
o getVersion
* Hello (wsdl)
o retrieve
o echo
o hello

When I select "Install Web Service on server" and "Start Web Service in
Web project" I would expect that the service actually gets registered in
Axis' server-config.wsdd, but that doesn't seem to be the case. A local
server-config.wsdd is never created by the wizard. Is this a shortcoming
of the server-definition? I'm deploying against JBoss 4.0.4CR2, using
the JBoss 4.0 server def.

Is this something 1.0.2 is addressing, or am I just not doing something
right? :)

Thanks!

Hi !

I ran into the same problem with 1.0.3 and Tomcat 5.0.30 ...
If someone can clarify it this would be great.
