I tried to get an overview of the possibility to start Scout without a server. Therefor I used the demo project from:

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Scout/HowTo/3.9/Create_a_Standalone_Client_with_DB_Access

Unfortunatly the demo has some Errors. I already solved the problem with the Class SimplePrinicipal and the Texts-Class.

Another error was shown in the class ServerSession in the following method:

public static ServerSession get() {
    return ThreadContext.get(ServerSession.class);
  }


The get-method is undefinded for the type ThreadContext. I tried to solve this by using ThreadContext.getServerSession. I guess this wasn't right.

When starting the application, the following error is shown. Can somebody tell me how to run the standalone application?

Hi

The demo project was outdated. I updated it to scout 3.9. You should be able to start a client offline now when you use the product

org.eclipse.scout.demo.offline.ui.swt\products\offline\offline-swt-client-dev.product.
