Hey again,

I have spend some looking for a way to bring some kind of text editors, including contnet assist, syntax highlighting,.. to RAP.

Unfortunately this topic seems to have only little attention. Most statements concerning this topic are quite old and not very encouraging.

From my point of view, neither the eclipse editors nor editors generated with Xtext are able to run in RAP with reasonable effort. Is that right?

What could be a good approach? A buzzword would be helpful.

Hi Rene,
the main blocker here is the missing StyledText widget (and friends) in
RAP. It's a huge effort to create a RAP port of this widget as only the
StyledText class is more than 10k lines of code. Any contribution in
this direction will be welcomed.
You can use the CKEditor component [1] in some cases instead.
