Hello,

I am new to JAVA & Eclipse and I have a question concerning the memory usage of a Java program. I would like to know if there is a dependency between the computer memory/specifications and the memory usage.

I have two computers with different specifications(RAM memory are different) but with the same tools (same Java version and same eclipse). When I run my big java program, I have noticed that the memory usage is different according to the computer I am using.

Is it normal ? I thought that the memory usage depends on the program only (or maybe java version) but I do not think it depends on the computer specifications.

If someone has an idea, could he tell me more about it ?

Note : I am checking the memory usage via the Windows Task manager.
