I'm pleased to announce that WTP's maintenance release 1.0.1 is available.

This is intended for the Eclipse 3.1.2 base (not 3.2).

You can download an appropriate zip file from

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R-1.0.1 -200602171228/

or, use Eclipse's Update Manager. For Update Manager, please start by
reading the instructions, tips, and limitations at

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates

This release contains 263 bug fixes from the 1.0.0 release, and you,
the community, get much credit for reporting, investigating, and providing
patches for many of those defects. Thanks very much for your help,
and hope you find the end result worth your efforts.

I just installed Eclipse 3.1.2. I then downloaded wtp-M200602141429.zip
and wtp-sdk-M200602141429.zip, and unzipped them into the Eclipse
directory.

Eclipse seems to run just fine. I was able to get a Tomcat server
defined and can get it to run.

The problem is, there's no 'Dynamic Web Project' showing up in Eclipse's
'New Project' window. The book that I bought starts with that window
option, so I can't even get started. I'm sure this is something very,
very dumb on my part, but I'm at a loss as to how to get started.
Appreciate a gentle boost to get going here.

Hi !

Seems you installed WTP plugin twice. You need only the runtime package, the SDK
is required if you want to develop plugins, and it contains the same stuff as
the standard package, plus sources.

I would not advice to use M(aintenance) builds, some of them contain severe bugs
which make usage partially impossible.

Retry it with the file "wtp-R-1.0.1-200602171228.zip" from the url of Davids post.

Best regards

Wolfgang
