hi
I've trained a few colleagues in Git. It was hard to explain how to switch to a branch that never have been used locally before. In the Git repositories view they have to right click on Branches/Local: Switch To > New Branch and so on.
I would like to suggest that a double click or checkout on a remote tracking branch does a local checkout of this branch. The actual operation that shows the branch in detached HEAD state should become a context menu entry. That would be easier.
What do you think?
A new tiny view that only shows local branches (for the current Git repository) would also be nice. So, after starting Eclipse it would not be necessary to open all the tree nodes to see the local branches.
What do you think?
