Yes for sure, see the JSONModelConverter or the JSONEMFConverter and the convert methods on these converter classes.
Maybe you have to create your own subclasses and override some methods to handle resolving of types etc.
If you need to read the database during de-serialization so that the data is read from the database and updated from
json then you need to set an EntityManagerObjectStore instance as the ObjectResolver.
Btw, if it works for you it can be great to share some code with me, if possible, then I will/can blog about it.
