Hi,

Is there a way to change an attribute in the source model using a rule or a helper or anything?

Hello,

No, the principle of ATL is that you can only navigate your input model (which is not editable).
Elements creations and modifications are only possible on the output model.

Only the specific new refining mode is implementing an in-place transformation approach, but in that case the input and output models are actually the same.
