Is it possible to extend the Web Modeler with a new Application Type?
I think I have to provide the UI's for the Application Type then.

Hi Florian. Unfortunately, the pluggable types SPI for the Web Modeler is still in planning process. So no, you can't currently extend the Web Modeler in a declarative manner, your only option is to download the source code, plug your code inside and compile it manually.

If you're not dead-set to use the Web Modeler, you can use the Eclipse-based modeler where the pluggable types SPI is fully functional (Eclipse style, via plugins and extension points).

The approach going forward to add new Application Types to the Browser Modeler is the so-called Application Overlay, where you can add a specific HTML UI which at runtime always invokes the Camel Application Type. As you can easily connect to arbitrary Spring Beans in Camel this gives you all flexibility to implement Modeling and Runtime personality of an Application or reuse what Camel is offering already - possibly with some configuration.

Various Application Overlays are already part of Stardust (REST, Rules, Mail).
