Hello

I am new to this forum, so i am sorry in advance if my issue has been already addressed before.
I am trying to build a tool for security modelling using GMF. and one of the requirement is to create different views with different palettes. can some one help me or tell me where i should ask if this is not the right place.

Thank you

Hi,

you can simply try to define different gmf editors on one meta-model using GMF. You could also take a look at the topic of Orthographic Software Modeling and tools enabling this. Tools for such a case would be Atom3 and Naomi.

Hi,

follow this tutorial to learn how to define a GMF editor http://wiki.eclipse.org/Graphical_Modeling_Framework/Tutorial/Part_1. You can also read this book (http://www.eclipse.org/resources/resource.php?id=493).

HI,

I know how to create one editor, bit how can i create many editors using one meta-model in the same tool. my objective is to get one tool with different views, and each view with different palettes.
Thank you for your precious help.

Hi,

just define multiple gmf editors on the same model. You could then use something like a dimension explorer to invoke the right editor on your model. We have an approach for view based modelling using a single underltying model and create views through transformations. This could be of interest for you:
