Hi,

I have a large variance of data values to be plotted in a bar graph like some entries are only of KB's while others are in GB's. So when these values are shown in the bar graph, bars of lower values don't show up properly.
So, is there any way to skip some of the values in the Y axis to resolve the problem.

I have also go through the following post:
broken axis birt in birt-exchange.

which recommends to draw 2 charts but actually the gap between the 2 charts is very large, which don't fulfills the requirement.

Thanks in advance

Thanks a lot,
Sachin

You could do a study chart:

In case of study charts, there are 2 series in Y axis, but I am having only 1 series in Y axis having lot of variance of data.

The problem is that when showing large variance of data in bar chart, bars having small values are of very small size. How to get those bar size up so that they can also be visible.

I have tried to use logarithmic scale but this doesn't meet the requirement as it is difficult to identify the gap between low and high values in logarithmic scale.

Would it be feasible in BIRT to show some break in the graph so that low values are also visible as in the image attached

This is what you could force with a study chart. You'd just use the same series twice and then set the scale of each chart to only show the tops of the bars for the tall bars and the lower half scaled back for the short bars. It would be similar to the two chart method you saw on BIRT Exchange.
