Diff inside commit dialog [message #1053583]

In a prior installation (might be 4.2.2 or 3.8, don't remember) the git commit dialog displayed a diff section inside the dialog box itself (it also had three columns in the bottom section for the not added, staged and unstaged files if I recall). You could click a file and the diff part of the dialog box would automatically display the diff for the selected file. But in my current install (Eclipse 4.2.2, EGit 2.3.1.201302201838-r) the commit dialog only displays a single file listbox and no diff.

What can I do to get that commit dialog box with the included diff?

As far as I know the EGit commit dialog never had a diff section. You always had to double click on an entry to see the diff. Maybe you have seen such a dialog in another graphical git client?

I didn't know there were other git clients for eclipse.
That's what it must have been...

There *is* a diff viewer in the commit dialog: select the file to be diffed
and press the space bar.

I found this by pure chance :-)
