PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Our mission is to define and develop a Java Platform-as-a-Service for building, deploying and managing enterprise applications in the Cloud. The Platform is based on open source and open standards, and offers environment for application development, testing, deployment and hosting, as well as application services such as identity management, persistence, connectivity, etc.
We are looking for a talented Product Owner to help shape the future of our product and to support the organization by managing key aspects of the product development. As a Product Owner, you will focus on the whole product lifecycle and will work as an integral part of a cross-functional Agile team, responsible for building powerful, easy & intuitive Eclipse, web and console tools for the Platform, and for providing superior user experience. You have to love building stuff and inventing on behalf of customers - your goal is to help make this product exceptional!

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

* Drive the product from definition and concept to market launch
* Manage stakeholders, both internally and externally gather relevant information, capture business requirements & feedback
* Working closely with Solution Management, analyze product opportunities and develop supporting business cases
* Derive use cases, create and prioritize user stories, develop white papers
* Clearly articulate product vision, features and priorities to the development team
* Support the development team with bug triage and requirements clarification & analysis
* Ensure product standards compliance and strive for high quality of deliveries
* Take active part in the Platform product team, contributing to the product strategy and the future roadmap
* Know our competitors and their competitive product offerings
* Deliver product demos to internal and external audiences, evangelize the product
* Act as a leader within the company

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

* BS (MS preferred) in Computer Science or related field
* Additional qualification in Product Management, Marketing, MBA or related field is an advantage
* Strong skills in software requirements process
* Ability to engage with people of all levels, motivating and inspiring them
* Creative thinking, willingness and ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies
* Strong sense to beautiful products, simplicity and usability, and high intrinsic aesthetic drive
* Excellent team player, with strong communication skills and ability to convey clear messages
* Passionate about his/her work, self- motivated and driven, thorough and focused
* Fluency in English

WORK EXPERIENCE

* Minimum 3 years of experience in software product management
* Advantage is any experience in software engineering, design and architecture
* Proven success defining and launching software products
* Experience in business analysis of software requirements
* Experience with any of these is a definite advantage: Eclipse Platform, Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF), Web Tools Platform (WTP), UI design
* History of involvement in open-source communities and projects is appreciated
