Hi,

Eclipse
Version: 3.4.1
Build id: M20080911-1700

PDT Core Plugin: 2.0.0v2008103
Xdebug 2.0.3

I've set up PDT/Xdebug to debug an app on a remote server. To
accomplish this, I basically start with a copy of the app on my local
machine and then upload that app to the remote machine with RSE. When I
make edits to the copies on the local machine I synchronize the app on
the remote machine with the app on my local machine.

Here's the problem:
The app that I'm running modifies the contents within its directory
tree, and as the app runs on the remote system(the server), its contents
are changed. So my local app is out of sync with my remote app, but my
local app is the one that should be updated.

Is there any way of getting RSE, to sync from the server to the client
on demand?

Thanks
R

Hi Richard,

this question should have gone to "eclipse.dsdp.tm" which is the
Newsgroup for RSE. I'm not sure what you mean by "Synchronize on Demand"
but I assume that you want to press a button to get modified files
downloaded (and only modified files).

RSE doesn't provide this out of the box, but will soon have it through a
Google Summer of Code contribution. Feel free to try it out:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform/Team_Synchronization_on_top _of_RSE#Current_Status

If it were myself though, I guess I wouldn't employ RSE for the
synchronization but run rsync over ssh.

Cheers,
