Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a way to display vertical text in a report with BIRT 4.2.1. I read some posts in different forums, but couldn't find a way to get it working. I also found the birt controls lib, but it's not supported in version 4.2.1 (only 2.3.2 and 2.5.2).

What I need is a static text item (no data set) that is displayed as part of a grid or next to it.

Is there any way to get that done without saving the text as a picture?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Bianca

Have you tried the birt controls lib in 4.2? I was pretty certain it still worked.

Hi Michael,

thanks for answering so fast!

I tried to put the jar's in the plugin folder and restart the designer, but couldn't see the objects.

Did I miss anything?

Best regards,
Bianca

Ok, it's working now. Installing via Update Manager solved the problem. (There are 3 jar's, but only two of them where in the downloads section of the home page.)

I still have some problems using the controls fpr my report. Is it somehow possible to changed the resolution of the generated image? I have the same problem, when I insert an image that I generated myself. The resolution is to low to look good in the report.

Best regards,
Bianca

Thanks a lot! That solved the problem I had using the images I generated myself. I still have some trouble with the controls, but that's not that urgent right now. I will have a look at that a little later.

Thank you so much!
Best Regards,
Bianca

Hello everybody,
I have the same problem but I can't find the birt-controls-lib for Birt 4.2. I tried
birt.controls.lib.ui_2.5.2.1.jar but it doesn't work.
Does anyone have any idea where to find it?
Thank you for your help,
Melina
