Hello,

i saw that Teneo supports auditing for whole Models or for specific types.
I think this is a very valuable feature for many business applications.

Are there any plans to implement auditing for Texo?

Best regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
It has crossed my mind yes, Texo generates standard JPA annotated code. This means that Hibernate envers should work
somewhat out-of-the-box. You can use this Texo feature to add Hibernate envers annotations to the generated entities:
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Texo/Direct_Java_Annotations

I was/am planning to test it with Texo and do a blog post/wiki page on it. To be sure that indeed Texo works directly
with Hibernate envers without additional changes.

Hi Peter,
I saw that EclipseLink also has auditing/history support:
http://wiki.eclipse.or
g/Configuring_Historical_Sessions_(ELUG)#How_to_Configure_Historical_Sessions_Using_a_EclipseLink_HistoryPolicy
http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/Auditing

(note the first link may be broken because of linebreaks..)

I am not sure if EclipseLink will create the history tables automatically though...

But your post triggered me on the topic, it is nice thing to try with Texo. If you do let me know, if not maybe I will
pick it up and do a blog post on the topic.

Hello Martin,

thank you very much for the information about the Hibernate envers feature and EclipseLink History Support.

I will take a closer look this or next week on both Audit features (Eclipselink and Hibernate) and let you know the results.

Best regards
Peter
