I have been developing with the Microsoft Visual Development tool in C# and have used Eclipse to develop Java applications. I have downloaded the Android SDK and the ADT 64 and am disappointed in the quality an performance. It on hogs near 100% of the processor on the simplest of projects. I have not been able to automatically generate code for an onclick or field change action. I find myself having to tweak the xml too often. It is extremely slow in responding to the cursor and a simple thing like moving the position bar up or down in the Properties window stutters. Are others experiencing this problems or am I expecting too much. If others are not experiencing these problems, then it maybe my setup.

Eclipse isn't responsible for the construction, distribution or
performance of the Android tools.

And if you are using the Juno release, be sure to follow the resolution steps listed at http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Juno_Performance_Investigation .
