Greetings,
I hope this isn't floating about in a FAQ somewhere that I haven't
found.

How do I show some organization in my Run/Debug Configurations?

I'd like to have the run configs associated with closed projects be removed
from view.
Or, I'd like to see them grouped by the workset the project they reference.
Or, I'd like to apply a filter to the overall list.
Or, I'd like to have some type of organization using folders and sub-folders
if possible.

Right now, I've over 100 entries and it is only likely to grow as time
progresses.
(Don't ask. Yes, they are all useful. Just not all at the same time or in
the same ways.)

I can find absolutely no way to organize the Configurations and it would
really help a great deal if I could.
(Well, almost no way. I'm giving them long cryptic names so they sort
together in groups)

Thank you for any assistance you can render,

- James

Hi

I don't think there is a grouping capability for run configs. However,
in the upcoming 3.2 release there will be filters. For details see:

-> browse to the 'Debug' section

Thanks Michael,

That appears to be what I was looking for:

The launch dialog and launch history menus support a set of
filters that can be
configured on the Run/Debug > Launching > Launch Configurations
preference
page. You can filter configurations from closed, deleted, or
unavailable projects.
As well, you can filter specific kinds of configurations. The
dialog and history
menus optionally support the current workbench window working
sets.

I'm not sure just what that last sentence means, I'd guess it probably is
self explanatory in the 3.2 UI context.

I hope the actual display tree used for the Launch Configuations will
someday support the Worksets as top level nodes like the Explorer.
But for the time being, the filtering ability alone will go along way to
solving the visual spam of my current config tree.
