Are there any special requirement on the server side ?
I'm trying to connect to an existing XPlanner but it fails with invalid
username or password. I'm not behind a proxy and the username/password
are working from a web browser.
I'm a little confused about the difference between username/password and
http authentication, even with these two fields with the same values the
connection fails. The server uses http authentication (I don't see the
XPlanner login form).

No, as long as you are using XPlanner version .7 (we have been using .7b4)

If this type of connection isn't working with the XPlanner connector,
you probably want to enter a bug for it. It is entirely possible this
is the case, since we did not test this path (was not an issue here).
