Not sure this had a place here but still.

Since more and more people are attracted by OSGi I recommend some great books :
- Modular Java Creating Flexible Applications with OSGi and Spring (this one is great to learn about OSGi, especially since you start from scratch, then move on to something with spring)
- Pro Spring Dynamic Modules for OSGi Service Platforms (Spring DM, old blueprint)
- Java Application Architecture Modularity Patterns with Examples Using OSGi (Probably the best one for good understanding on "how to do stuff" properly and with efficiency, there is even a bit of glyn into this book Very Happy)

IMHO, OSGI in depth is one of the must read if you want to know OSGI mecanisms
