Hello,
I run eclipse 3.4.0 on windows 2003 server R2.
I just installed latest TPTP plug-in.
When I try to record a HTTP URL test, internet explorer is launched at
google.ca
and everything seems ok:

Test generation started with generator: TPTP URL Test Generator
Test to be generated: /MyJavaRecordingProject/src/recordings.testsuite
Test generation completed.
Warning: Port 1080 already in use. Using port 1287 for recording.
Recording started.
Connecting to Agent Controller on host 'localhost' and port '10002'.
Deploying required recorder files.
Sending command: Init
Sending command: StartRecording
Sending command: StartApp 'Internet Explorer'
Recording completed.
Test generation started with generator: TPTP URL Test Generator
Test to be generated: /MyJavaRecordingProject/src/recordings.testsuite
Test generation completed.

The following HTTP requests are defined int this test:
No HTTP requests.
the list remains empty.

I would like to record HTTP requests from browser.
Can someone help me ?

thank you.

Hi Martin,
Do you have a firewall running on your machine? What is blocking port
1080? What is recorded in your *.reek files?

Hello,
This monday morning it is worse than ever. Cannot start any recording. It
seems the Integrated Agent Recorder cannot initialize:

Recording started.
Connecting to Agent Controller on host 'localhost' and port '10002'.

and it keeps waiting.. and waiting...

Used Ports (via "netstat" command):

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP LGSR-4068:1457 LGSR-4068.SQIMDEV:10002 ESTABLISHED
TCP LGSR-4068:10002 LGSR-4068.SQIMDEV:1457 ESTABLISHED

I do not see any .reek file on my computer. The .rec "recording" file is
0K (empty).

I do not run windows firewall.

I could start recording from local IIS if I could initialise to Integrated
Agent, but it do not connect.

Thank you,

Integrated Agent Controller Configuration (properties) seems bad:

Under Windows/Preference, expanding Agent Controller, I get a "could not
accept changes" message when I click on the Integrated Agent Controller
item.

"The currently displayed page contains invalid values"

On the Agent controller, local port is 10002.
on the hosts, I see localhost[10002]. The test connection button works OK.

under the host, the Integrated Agent Controller seems badly configured as
no option are set:

start/stop as needed: net set
java executable: not set
machines that should be given access to IAC: not set

If I try to change any setting the OK button seems to hang eclipse as it
enters hourglass waiting forever.

the restore defaults on Agent Controller does not seems to set any IAC
options. I keep getting the "The currently displayed page contains
invalid values" on IAC options.

Thank you.

What version of TPTP are you using? Can you try TPTP 4.5.0:

Hello Paul,

Where I work, we have three distinct ms-windows domains. It might be
possible that some networks/domains are subject to firewall/port
restrictions. I just cannot tell as I do not know how to diagnose.

On my machine The firefox plug-in selenium and selenium RC (remote
control) do work on port 4444, as I can record and play back HTTP sessions.

Yesterday, I did try to install eclipse and tptp on a XP machine in an
other distinct windows domain. Guess what: It worked.

If it is a firewall related problem, is there a way to configure the TPTP
recorder and the integrated agent to work on port 4444 ?

If not, I will keep working on the XP machine. My 2003 server uses many
distinct components, each with different versions:

TPTP platform : 4.5
TPTP profiling: 4.4
test framework: 4.3.2
monitoring: 4.4.1
and so on

Thank you for your support. It is appreciated.

Great news Martin. Yes, it appears to be a firewall issue based on your
information. You can configure the URL Recorder port in the preferences
(Window >> Preferences >> Test >> TPTP URL >> URL Recorder >> Proxy
Recorder ).
