Hi,

Adding a progress bar and message to the splash screen from within the product definition used to work in old RCP, but with e4 and all the versions of Eclipse 4.x
it does not seem to be working.
I am now using Version: 4.2.0 Build id: I20120608-1400, and I wonder if any fixes or workarounds have been done in this regard.

Thank you Christoph. I had actually come across those links in the past, but it is still unclear to me whether the progress bar is implemented, and less than clear how to integrate the prototype proposed. Could you please shed some light on this?

The prototype in the bug has a progress bar. Please feel free to try and imrpove it.

The usage is still very close to what I described in this post: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/mv/msg/328812/857153/#msg_857153
There are some more set* methods in the prototype, to set color, location of the text etc.
