Hi everyone!

We have a problem concerning the OSGI console of a JBoss 5 server. We created a WAR with the -console parameter and the JBoss doesn't show the console regardless. Since we had a WAR somewhere that worked, we compared the two of them, plug-in by plug-in and came to the conclusion:

If the plug-in org.eclipse.osgi 3.8.1 is used, the console won't show, with org.eclipse.osgi 3.7.2 and org.eclipse.osgi 3.7.0 everything is fine. There is no error message of any kind.

Is there an API break or something? Do we need to specify the OSGI console somewhere different starting with 3.8? Or could that be a version conflict (we are using RAP 1.5, but there seems to be no reasonable versioning in the plug-ins starting with org.eclipse whatsoever)?

Thanks in advance,

S. Schulz

Hi,

AFAIK org.eclipse.osgi 3.8.1 relies on apache felix gogo for OSGi console. So you have to add the three bundles

  1. gogo.shell
  2. gogo.runtime
  3. gogo.command

For more information take a look at http://felix.apache.org/site/apache-felix-gogo.html

Thanks, that seemed to work for now. It's still kind of strange to change something that big without notice.
