Hi,

I read the thread on "Dropins folder?" No where does anyone identify if
and where the p2 logs what is going on. I can find no log. I have 3
machines with Eclispe 3.4.1 , Xp Pro, W2K Server and W2003K Server.
Dropins works on none of these using -clean to start or otherwise. Where
do we even start to determine what is wron.?

I am trying to deploy a new version of an Eclipse project, under EMF,
Teneo, only available as a zipped std eclipse/features + eclispe/plugin
structure. The only successful methods I have found is to install a
brand new 3.4.1, then install all my other plugins then use the
dropins, it seems to work the first time, about 30 minutes per machine.
Teneo releases milestones nearly every 2-3 weeks, so you can see this
becomes a little annoying.

There are some thing not even explained in the p2 documentation. Lets
say you unzip a updated set of jars etc. into the same structure under
dropins, does it detect this? Another one is lets say I unzip the
runtime for Teneo alone, restart Eclipse and then add later the sources
or examples, is it supposed to detect the additional components after an
additional restart, it does not seems to? Please bring back the forced
installation into plugins, at least it worked.

David
