So if you read my other thread about C++ preferences, or even cdt in general not showing up in the eclipse platform, I have decided teh only why to get these back is from a fresh install.

Just a fresh re-install does nothing. Still not CDT

I sudo apt-get removed EVERY eclipse thing on my computer. I realized that the workspace also has .metadata and .plugins with other files that could be causing it to not load CDT. I purged EVERYTHING again. My workspace is gone, purged, no more. Along with all the eclipse programs.

I go to sudo apt-get install eclipse-cdt

I run eclipse, and what do you know?!?! My workspace is re-created with all teh .metadata and all!! Where is this coming from. What other profiles/files do I need to delete?

Please Help if you can

Thanks

Trever

When you run Eclipse, you have to have a workspace. It will will be
filled in when you create it.

Don't install using the repositories for you Linux distribution. They
are not supported by the Eclipse forums. You should remove what you
have installed and download Eclipse from the download page at
Eclipse.org. Unzip it into a directory, point the eclipse.ini to your
JDK VM runtime and you are ready to go.
