I'm currently using the BIRT chart engine as standalone library. After some complications I evantually was able to get the things run.
Now I'm playing around with some charts but I'm constantly runing into troubles which I'm either not able to solve or it takes me hours to come up with n solution. Therefore, I'll ask you if there is a good tutorial or guide available (Preferably free available at the internet). By now I'm using the FAQ (http://wiki.eclipse.org/BIRT/FAQ/Charts2.2) the API (http://help.eclipse.org/indigo/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.birt.chart.doc.isv) and the good old friend Google for finding the information I need. But I'm not happy at all with this selection because the stuff I find there is often not exactly what I'm looking for.
I'm also looking for good examples. Google told me I should look at the examples in the org.eclipse.birt.chart.example bundle, but was not able to find any usefull content in it at all. (I did barely find any content in ths archive.)
This webinar was done a while back but most of the information is still
I have also added a lot of blog posts on chart scripting which often
calls the chart api, just google:

I would be interested in what is missing from the chart examples view
that you need. If you open BIRT in the window->open view->chart
examples has a lot of chart samples. Tell us what we are missing in
this view so we can update it.
