Hi, Please can somebody help. I have some custom controls in Swing and we have some problems copy/pasting these controls in WindowBuilder. My control has some custom editors for some of the properties and we've described these in a BeanInfo class. WindowBuilder works perfectly and displays the custom editors, and accepts input and converts these into initializers just fine.

BUT ... when you copy a control and paste it, the initializers of all properties are copied nicely EXCEPT FOR those depending on custom editors.

Hi, could I get an update please on how this is going to be addressed? I've mentioned this issue last week and would like to get an acknowledgement of the bug, a request for more information, or a suggested workaround. Thanks

I would suggest providing a test case if you want someone to look into this.

Okay, here is the case.

I am using Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.

Version: Indigo Service Release 2
Build id: 20120216-1857

And it's the same situation - I can drop a RedBlackTextField component on a JPanel, I can set the property "redBlackData" and I see this is output nicely in code. If I am in the visual editor and select the component, I press [ctrl][c] and click on the JPanel again, and press [ctrl][v] I do get my new RedBlackTextField BUT the initializer for property of my custom editor is not bundled in the paste.

Please help!

TIA

Done it trunk.
Now WindowBuilder will copy/paste custom properties like this.

Hi, I am trying to install the fix but am not seeing the behavior corrected? I've upgraded the plugins in my IDE using Help/Check for Updates and see in the properties that I have Swing Designer 1.5.0.r37x201206111310. When will this be released or what am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

You need to upgrade to Swing Designer 1.5.1 which is available from the WB download page.

Hi, does this mean that this fix is available for 4.2 Juno only and not for Indigo, Helos, and Gallileo? So if I want the fix I need to upgrade to 4.2 Juno?

It is not limited to Juno.

The download page actually shows all of the versions that are available.

Hi, I need help on this. I am following the instructions on the download page. It says to update, to run "Check for Updates" in Eclipse. I have run this, but it says "no updates available" and when I look at the Eclipse installation details it says I have version 1.5.0.r37x20120611... so how do I get 1.5.1?

TIA

You need to use the update sites listed on the WB download page rather than the (presumably) release update site you are using now (which will not show you any updates).

Hi,
Thanks for this info but I still need some help...

I am at this page: http://www.eclipse.org/windowbuilder/download.php

If I hover my mouse over the links I see:

4.2 Juno = 1.5.1
3.8 Juno = 1.5.0
3.7 Indigo = 1.5.0
3.6 Helios = 1.5.0
3.5 Galileo = 1.5.0
3.4 Ganymede = 1.0.0

So my question is where can I get 1.5.1 for Indigo? And could someone give me the link to where I need to update WB for Indigo and other releases to the latest version?

TIA

Use the "Integration Version" "Update Site" link shown on that download page. It points to v1.5.1.
