We have a bundle that depends on one of the VTS extension bundles. We are also using Tycho to automate our build. Tycho requires all of our dependencies to be available from a P2 repository. However, it appears that the Virgo extension bundles are not exposed by the VTS update site. Is there a public P2 site for the VTS extension bundles or must we roll our own?

Hi,

Unfortunatelly the extension bunles are not available through an update site that can be consumed by tycho. If you could roll your own it should work fine.
My guess is you'll just need to spin the FeaturesAndBundlesPublisher Application over the repository/ext content moved in a plugins folder and it should work for you.

Best Regards
Bobby

Thanks Bobby.

Such an update site would be generally useful to anyone who both utilizes extension bundles. Is there any way that this update site could be provided with the VTS release?

Cameron.

In principle it could be provided.
A limitation here is it would be only useful if you want to build against it and not install anything from there into a VTS/VJS instance. Another limitation is it won't be an exact picture of the user region as it is quite difficult to emulate the shared between the regions packages with a p2 repository.
Still there is the valid use case where someone needs to build only against the artifacts of the /repository directories, knowing that this is not an exact picture of the user region.

If that is your case, please file an enhancement in our bugzilla to provide such repository and we'll schedule it Smile

Thanks,
Bobby
