What could be the restrictions to make some of my bmp to be considered
invalid images when I try to select them into a button in a toolbar ?

Attached are two of my bmp, one is considered valid and another invalid.

Thank you very much.

What does invalid mean? Do you get a message? What are the symptoms?

In the image selection Dialog box the image doesn't appear. I can see
just an interrogation character and a message in red appears below the
image icons. The valid.bmp I can see and select. The invalid.bmp can't
be selected.

I would like to understand what makes the bmp invalid.

Hi Rich,

I've posted this question at swt newsgroup too, where Carolyn MacLeod is
helping me. She detected that swt doesn't read the image, probably
because there is a problem to decode de image as it is. Below is her post:

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------
I looked at your invalid.bmp, and you are correct, SWT does not read it.
Please open a new bug report in Bugzilla (Eclipse, Platform, Compoent:
SWT) for this.
Please attach your invalid.bmp.
Please mention that it is a 16 bit depth BMP with "BI_BITFIELDS"
compression, which SWT does not currently support.
(i.e. it isn't compressed, actually, but BI_BITFIELDS means that the
palette info is stored in a different place than usual, so we need to
decode it differently).

Also, please let me know which application you used to create this BMP -
I am just curious.

------------------------------------------------------------ -----------

I'll report this problem at Bugzilla.

Sorry if my duplicated post is improper behavior. I just thought that it
could be related both to swt and ve.

Thank you.

I would like to understand what makes the bmp invalid.
