Hi,

I have a set-up where my Eclipse installation is using an external
plug-ins folder. Since I moved to Eclipse 3.4 I'm using the dropins folder
for that. I have a link file in my dropins folder which points to my
external folder.

My question: What's the correct way of updating plug-ins in such cases?
If I use the Eclipse update options, I will have the updated versions
installed in my Eclipse installation and not in my linked folder?

Is this a bug of am I missing something?

Thanks,
Zviki

You are not missing anything. This is expected behavior

If you can, I would strongly encourage you to move out of the links /
dropins folder altogether and manage your install using the p2 UI.
