SWT/JFace - platform support [message #112433] Tue, 06 December 2005 02:52 Go to next message

Where can I best find information on what one would need to do to have their
SWT app supported on various platforms (WinXP vs MacOS vs WinCE vs Linux vs
etc)?

Is having a JRE on each of these platforms good enough, or does something
have to be distributed with one's SWT application to have it run?

What about with Swing? Is the JRE all that is needed?

thanks

If it is full JRE then, yes for Swing that is all that is needed.

For SWT see:

http://fullmoon.rtp.raleigh.ibm.com/downloads/drops/R-3.1.1- 200509290840/index.php

And scroll all of the way down to the section title SWT Binary and
Source. The header describes how to use SWT standalone.

As for JFace, that is not yet officially supported standalone. That is
being worked on.

Thanks for the answer.

The URL did not work for me. Is there an alternate URL (or maybe the server
is temporarily down)?
