Hi,
I tend to have a problem with p2 and used to have the same problem with UM:
Some software must be installed without an update site. Usually I create
an extension location and a link file. That worked and works fine.
Then I try to install some new software via p2 UI from an update site.
But I always get the message that the change would result in an invalid
configuration. Looking closer I realize that my configuration seemd to
be invalid even before but nobody (I) cared. The only consequence that
some bundles were disabled was completely acceptable. I even didn't
notice because I hide all warnings.
So in one way p2 is right, the resulting configuration would be invalid.
But not more than it was before.
New is that p2 asks me whether I'd like to review the changes anyway.
But no way to accept the resulting configuration (invalid or not).
Is my assumption right?
If yes, could p2 be "enhanced" to allow invalid configuration after
clicking "Are you sure?" and "Are you really really sure?"?
Maybe this question would only be necessary if p2 were able to recognize
that the resulting config is not worse than the one before...
Does that make sense?
Cheers
/Eike
