IAC on Linux -- binaries not executable [message #109932]

Just wanted to report this somewhere:

Yesterday I installed Eclipse 3.3 on a RHEL box, and installed TPTP and
its IAC via update site.

Nothing worked at first, so I looked through the logs, and found it
couldn't run the ACStart.sh script.

I found the place that the plugin had been expanded, and for some reason
none of the files in the bin or lib directory were marked as executable.

I chmod'ed them executable, and I was now able to launch programs in
profile mode.

Am I the only one who has seen this?

I'm on to another problem now, where it looks like the command line
parameters are not being passed to my main() correctly. (the exact same
launch profile works for run and debug, but not for profile, I end up
with my main() complaining about parameter that is empty

Hi Greg,

The problem with the permissions being incorrect on Linux is caused by the
signing of the jars, which we have a previously reported defect on:
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=195303. If you install the
platform runtime from the TPTP website
(http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/home/downloads) you should not have the
permission problem. Please provide confirmation of your results.
