Start Agent controller (from
agntctrl.win_ia32-TPTP-4.4.0-200705280100.zip) as ACServer, then Tomcat
with Java option -agentlib:JPIBootLoader=JPIAgent:server=enabled;CGProf
The servicelog.log file shows no registration of the Tomcat process with
the ACServer, and trying to attach to the ACServer from Eclipse with
TPTP (tptp.runtime.allInOne.win32.win32.x86-TPTP-4.4.0-2007052801 00.zip)
shows a successful connection on port 10006, but then an empty agent
list. I have managed to do this with the old JVMPI interface (using
port 10002), but would like to profile a Version 6 JVM.
I know that agent discovery and attachment used not to work with the
JVMTI profiler. Confusingly, however, there are various bugs relating to
JVMTI attachment reported as "fixed" (e.g., 167994, 173778, 182207,
182750), so something seems work for somebody. How can I make it work
for me?

Oliver,
There are still issues with the JVMTI Agent discovery and attach
functionality.
Please report this problem in the Eclipse bug system
(http://bugs.eclipse.org) under the TPTP Project, TPTP Profiler, JVMTI
Agent component.
