Hi,

I'm trying to debug a C program that needs root privilege, so I ran Eclipse as root (sudo eclipse). What happens is that eclipse fires up but the editor is disabled. When I doulbe click a file in eclipse I get gedit.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help.

You should not run complete Eclipse as root. You should Google for "Eclipse cdt debug root". You will find a solution, e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2891356/how-to-debug-application-as-root-in-eclipse-in-ubuntu

Before you ask
- search this forum
- see the FAQ http://wiki.eclipse.org/CDT/User/FAQ
- google
