I've been trying for two days to run simple c++ implementations on Eclipse. I have followed multiple tutorials on setting up Eclipse to build c++ programs and execute them. I have:

  • installed MinGW
  • edited the System Variables
  • installed Eclipse Classic
  • used "install new software" to install CDT from "root"/tools/cdt/releases/indigo (can't post links yet)
  • restarted to apply updates

After creating a c++ project (selecting the HelloWorld executable sample) and successfully building the file I attempt to run as C/C++ file. I get the error pop-up "HelloWorld.exe has stopped working"

Can someone please assist me in fixing this issue?

You might have noticed sticky posts at the top of this forum encouraging
you to post C/C++-related questions in the Eclipse CDT forum.
