I cant get maven to interact [message #769453]

I have Maven installed and I can see it in there but when I try to run a project and go to run as Maven is no where to be found
I even tried to use the jetty svn wikki trunk and when I enter the url everything in the drop box next to it is blank
even when I try to bring up archetypes there all greyed out
when I try to go into discovery and try to install m2e connectors it gives this message>

(Problems occurred while performing installation: org/sat4j/minisat/core/AssertingClauseGenerator
org/sat4j/minisat/core/AssertingClauseGenerator)

can somebody please point me in the right direction???
