Hello All,

First off: I would appreciate if one of you could point me to a different thread on here if my question isn't appropriate for this place.

Ok, the problem is: none of the plugins install. I have done all preliminary checks and have gone to google often to find out why but no luck.

I have good connection and have made sure that my network domain isn't blocking my eclipse's communication with the outside world...

Similar to the following is what I see for all plugin install(by using "help->install" from the menu:

Does your workstation need to use a Proxy to get to the internet? If so, then you need to configure the proxy settings in Eclipse to route requests through the Proxy.

I can't tell you what to set your proxy settings to. That would depend on your network. You need to contact your network admin for that information.

I am able to download plugins, I just re-installed a new copy of eclipse(indigo)

Here is what I changed in eclipse.ini to fix the proxy problem in my eclipse.
I got my proxy info from IE

-Dhttp.proxyPort=8080
-Dhttp.proxyHost=myproxy_name
-Dhttp.proxyUser=mydomain\myusername
-Dhttp.proxyPassword=mypassword
-Dhttp.nonProxyHosts=localhost|127.0.0.1

I still see the same error I posted at the beginning of this tread.
I see it when my program tries to read from a site for example:
www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-09-2008/jw-09-hadoop.html?page=3

Any other pointer to resolve this would be appreciated.

Mike
