I think IBM has published a white paper on this topic.
You also have the GMF book from Richard Gronback that is good but it
only explains how to use GMF, not "how to do something good with GMF".
The wiki currently have some hints on how to do nice things (see
Tutorial pages 2, 3, 4 and documentation pages), but it does not really
explain the workflow to create a nice editor.
All GMF experts do have some good practices and workflows to be
efficient, but there are always some differences between approaches.
Most people do learn to be efficient by following the tutorial and then
start hacking things relying on the existing documentation.
Some companies provide training on GMF and hopefully give insights on
this topic.
I'd personnally like to formalize my GMF workflows and share them, but
it is lot and lot of time. I think that's the same for all GMF contributors.
As you can understand, what you are looking for is currently (IMHO) a
missing piece of GMF, and I don't have any good solution to provide you.
If you find something interesting, please share it here.
Regards,
