Can the Formatter remove trailing whitespace in comments? [message #754858]

I'm looking for the ability to trim all whitespace from the end of lines. When I use the Save Action's "Remove trailing whitespace" ability, it still leaves a single space on every blank line of a block comment & JSDOC. Is it possible to tweak this functionality to include the comments (or is there a reason that those spaces are there)?
