Do I understand correctly that cascaded parameters are limited to constant nesting level? So that if I have a tree of employees, I can't pick an employee, then his subordinate, then his subordinate, etc. until hitting the one I need information for?

Alexey,

What do you mean by limited to? Each level in a cascade can be very
dynamic, but it should have some correlation to the level above and below.

I mean that the number of levels in a cascade has to be fixed in advance, so we can't decide whether there is a next level of cascade depending on value of current level (except by returning empty list of possible values for the next level?).
